Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger

I absolutely love red and white together.  When I saw this week's Tuesday Trigger  from Moxie Fab World I decided to play along.  I used PTI Rustic Cream CS and stamped different images to create a slightly worn look.  I really wanted to sew the different shapes together with decorative stitching like a crazy quilt, but I guess I wimped out.  It's a basic card, but I need a few Thank You cards that are easy to mail, so this is one down.

Stamps: PTI; Polka Dot Basics, Turning a New Leaf, Remember   CTMH; Playful Petals   Ink: CTMH; Cranberry, Black   CS: PTI; Kraft, Rustic Cream  CTMH; Cranberry   Ribbon: CTMH; Cranberry   Punch: SU; Scallop  Marvy; Circle  MS; Scallop Dot Edge

I'm still trying out all my new PTI goodies. I bought the 2008 Holiday Tag Set just for this image.  I'm making a lot of homemade gifts with coffe mix and hot chocolate mix, so I wanted this tag.  I decided to try it out on this card and this weeks CPS sketch.

Still loving everything PTI however I am a little disappointed in the color of the melon berry CS compared to the melon berry ink.  The CS is more pinky and the buttons and ink are more orangey.  I wanted the orangey tones so I guess it's the CS tone that I'm disappointed in.  Still a beautiful color... it just doesn't match the ink.  Oh well.

Stamps: PTI; Turn a New Leaf, 2008 Holiday Tags, Polka Dot Basics   Ink: PTI; Melon Berry  CTMH; Chocolate, Bamboo   CS: PTI; Kraft, Rustic Cream, Melon Berry  CTMH; Chocolate   Ribbon: CTMH; Chocolate, Colonial White Hemp  Button: PTI; Melon Berry  Other: Nestabilities Label 1, Petite Scalloped Circle

Everything is straight forward with this weeks Card Patterns sketch.  I made my first order from PTI and I have to say that I am in love with their cardstock.  Especially the rustic cream CS.  I just love it!!!  I'm really pleased with the rustic & weathered look the stamps have on the rustic cream.  I already knew that I loved the quality of their stamps but I'll definitely be ordering more of their CS when I get a chance.

Card Positioning Systems 142

I have had the base of this card lying around for a while.  So today I decided to use it on the CPS sketch and turn it into a birthday card.

The Card Patterns sketch this week is pretty straight forward yet still full of possibilitites.   I had a bow on, but took it off because it just didn't seem to work.  Now that the card is photographed, it looks like it needs something.

Smile

In high school I loved purple... all shades of purple.  I wore it frequently.  I still have favorite clothes in various shades of purple, but I have precious little purple in my craft supply.  So, I think I need to look for some plum papers and embellishments.

I used the CPS sketch 141 for a jumping off place.  Then there is the Moxie Fab World Plum Crazy Challenge for the color inspiration.

CS: CTMH; White Daisy, Amethyst   Ink: CTMH; Petal  Stamps: CTMH; Playful Flourishes, Thoughtful Seasons  Ribbon; CTMH; Smokey Plum   Nestabilities: Label 1  Misc: flowers, buttons

Card Patterns 40

I just love the color red.  Love it! Even though my card this week is pretty basic, I'm still happy with all the red. The Card Patterns sketch this week was a simple geometric sketch which I always love.

Card Patterns 39

I always start these sketches with the intention of staying spot on the sketch, but then I wander.  Card Patterns sketch 39 is fun and I like what the DT did,  but I wandered.  All supplies by CTMH.

CPS 140

I pulled out my favorite CTMH Christmas paper for this week's CPS sketch.  It's pretty much gone but I have a few scraps left.

All supplies by CTMH except the saying.  That is from the "Wishing You" set by Anna Griffin.

CPS 139

Ok, I made the deadline this week for CPS.  This was an easy sketch to work with and some beautiful samples by the DT.  I'm not thrilled with my hanging packages, but that's ok.

All supplies by CTMH.

Missed the boat...

I decided to get back into the habit of trying a few weekly challenges and then I missed the deadline to post it.  Maybe this week I'll do better.  But I love this stamp and enjoyed the sketch from Card Patterns.

Time to Scrap

I love to do layouts but sometimes they're just so time consuming compared to cards. But I love the finished product. These are pictures from last fall but I just realized I put the wrong date. Argg.... I'll have to go back and change that.

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #7

I have loved this card at Lisa's Creative Corner ever since I first saw it and decided to try my hand at it. She was casing this card at All In A Day's Work which is just so stinkin' cute. Here's my attempt for Dawn McVey's Color Challenge.

Color Challenge #53

I've been browsing blogs all weekend and have been struck with the simple cards. I love them. I love the white space and how the color just jumps out. So... I had some time and with all of the bold colors in this week's challenge, I tried to capitalize on the white space.

Card Patterns #11

I liked this Card Patterns sketch and loved the journal element on the sketch.  I've never purchased from etsy before, but am seriously considering an order.  I just love what the design team has done with all of the tags from Paper Pixie.  I'm afraid I tilted my "tag" element too much but my daughter actually commented on my card this morning and she rarely makes a comment.  I think it's the amethyst & black combo.  We both love it.  Anyway, the card is pretty straight forward, but once I get some journal tags of my own, I think I'll come back to this sketch.  I really like it.  Did I already say that?

Yikes, even more blog candy...

Ok, what's up with those women in the UK?  Bev has over 600 followers on her blog and 200,000 hits.  I'm speechless.  And she also has amazing blog candy to give away.  Congratulations Bev.

The most incredible blog candy ever.....

Debbie from Passion For Crafts has hit her 1 year blog anniversary and has had 62,000 hits.  Wow! So she is celebrating with an incredible give away.  Which I would love to win.  Congratulations Debbie on your successful 1st year.

I made 6 sets of notecards for administrative assistant day and didn't take a single picture.  What was I thinking?  Anyway I used this old Making Memories Maddi Paisley paper for one of the sets.  My husband requested "fun" paper and I think this color combo is FUN. So it was still out when I tried this card.  With the rain today, I decided to use umbrellas instead of circles, but I still stayed true to the CPS sketch.

CPS 111

Well, I wish I had a Cuttlebug for this card.  It could really use some dry embossing on the stark white.  That's on my wishlist. Someday.  I loved this CPS sketch and I think I'll try it again and stay close to the sketch next time.

Birthday Card to Try & Win Some Blog Candy

It's Vicki's Blog Birthday and she's giving away Blog Candy if you make a birthday card and link to her blog.  Sounds like fun so here's my card with my favorite color combo.  I just love Blush, Baby Pink & Sweet Leaf.  All supplies are CTMH.

Card Patterns #10

This was a fun looking sketch from Card Patterns but my oval and circle plans didn't quite work out.  So, instead I have a rectangle and strip.  Still easy and fun to put together.

CPS 110

I made the CPS sketch vertical instead of horizontal and made  a bookmark that can be taken off.  A friend of mine had a horrible week where everything that could go wrong did.  So I thought this sentiment would fit.  She's probably feeling like she's strong enough and the trials can go away.  LOL.

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge Week # 3

Buttons are everywhere, and why not?  They are fun.  When I thought of doing a row of buttons for this week's color challenge, I thought of a card on p.19 of the Originals Book.  My card follows that basic design with just a few differences.

CS: CTMH; Bamboo, Taffy, Baby Pink   Stamp: CTMH; Celebrate Life   Ink: CTMH; Chocolate, Cranberry    Ribbon: CTMH; Cranberry  Buttons: CTMH; Holiday Red, Baby Pink & Gap Shorts; Peach, Beige

Card Patterns Sketch #9

This is the first time I've tried scrunching & stitching ribbon on a card.  When I sew, the goal is to be straight and uniform.  What fun to not measure and just scrunch away.  I'll definitely try this again.

CS: CTMH; White Daisy, Baby Pink   Stamp: CTMH; Card Commentary, Thoughtful Seasons   Ink: CTMH; Blush, Buttercup, Heavenly Blue   Ribbon: CTMH; Blush Organdy, Buttercup Organdy, Heavenly Blue Organdy
